Frequently Asked Questions
Do all players on my game have to enter a cash tournament?
No. Cash tournaments are totally optional for your players.
How do my players find out about the cash tournament I’m running?
As a game developer or aggregator, you have a lot of leeway in advertising the cash tournaments to your players. We encourage developers to advertise the tournament on or around the game. We can likely provide you with UI elements (buttons, passed information such as the jackpot amount and time left in the tournament, etc) for incorporation into your site or application.
Will I be sending players off-site?
No. Players on your site can enter cash tournaments from your site, as the PayoutHub widget can be placed in an iframe near the game or separate page within your site, or accessed via an API. It can also be integrated into Flash or other environments. Contact us if you have a more specific integration request.
How do I make sure my tournaments are secure?
There are two parts to making a fair tournament. One is on us—the secure transfer of scores and accurate processing of tournament results. The other is on the game developer—ensuring that it is difficult to "hack" the game and bypass the UI to generate a falsely high score or make an easier playing experience. Contact us for more information on game security.
How do I determine the payout structure of my tournament?
We leave the payout structure (i.e., how money is distributed among the winners of the tournament) to the game developer. We have a few default options, such as paying a certain number of winners (typically, 5) or a percentage of all players who bought in (typically, 10% or 30%). We can work with you to determine the right distribution for your tournaments.
My tournament was suspended or cancelled. Why?
PayoutHub will occasionally suspend or cancel tournaments in which we believe the security or integrity of the tournament has been compromised. When a tournament is voided due to security concerns, PayoutHub will refund all money that has been paid into the tournament, minus fees. However, PayoutHub is not able to refund tournament entry bids earned by completing offers on one of our partner sites, such as SuperRewards. If this happens on a tournament running on one of your games, PayoutHub will contact you and work with you to ensure that future tournaments are fair and secure.
Is there a minimum payment threshold?
Yes. We will only mail you a check if your balance exceeds $50.00 on the 1st of every month.
How often does PayoutHub cut checks?
PayoutHub mails checks on the 1st of every month. The payments can be made on a 4 week delay as we float the cost of the Net 30, 60 and 90 payouts that we receive from our payment partners. We payout within 5 days of the payment date as occasionally the specified payment date lands on public holidays and weekends.
What payment methods does PayoutHub offer?
Our preferred payment method is by check. Although we do payout via paypal with a small commission, if requested.
What currency is the commission paid out in?
US Dollars
Where can I implement PayoutHub?
Because the core of PayoutHub loads in an iframe or new browser window, and any data may also be retrieved via JSON, our API can be implemented on almost any web-enabled platform.
How long does the PayoutHub implementation take?
Once you figure how to best incorporate tournaments into your product, code implementation can take less than an hour.
